      *****

Méo-Camuzet is one of the most prestigious estates in the Cote de Nuits and the largest vineyard owner in Vosne-Romanée. An incredible reputation with top scores in all magazines worldwide! It has a bright ruby color, the nose is very intense, intoxicating, for the wide complexity of red fruits such as blueberries, blackberries and plums. The sip is elegant and powerful, with a perfect balance of flavors. 100% PINOT NOIR

The Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of the undisputed star estates of Burgundy. It is located in Côte-des-Nuits and has existed since Gallo-Roman times. Since 4 centuries, the domain's know-how has been passed on from generation to generation, always with the ambition and desire to produce exceptional wines. The estate covers 17.2 hectares of vineyard, including 13.7 hectares in red. The only grape variety harvested there is Pinot Noir. The remaining 3.6 hectares are devoted to the production of white wines, again with a single grape variety: chardonnay. The Méo Camuzet estate then produced Burgundy grands crus in the Richebourg, Echezeaux, Clos Vougeot and Corton appellations; as well as premier crus in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Fixin. The wines produced by the estate are known to be very good aging. Until 1988 most of the domaine's holdings were leased out to other vignerons and amazingly most of the wine was sold off to négociants in bulk. Today, it is a very different story.  Jean-Nicolas Méo and Christian Faurois now run the Domaine and together they produce some of the very best wine in the Côte d'Or

      -

Meo-Camuzet produces full-bodied, firm, rich, oaky, concentrated wines, which no serious Burgundy drinker should overlook. Prior to the arrival of current stewards Jean-Nicholas Méo and Christian Faurois, two of the most monumental Burgundian personalities were fundamental in the history of Méo-Camuzet. The first is Etienne Camuzet, a political figure who was deputy for the Côte d’Or from 1902 to 1932, and who purchased during his life some significant vineyard holdings as well as the Château de Clos de Vougeot, which he later gave to the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. His name frequently appears in litigation to decide which parcels of vineyard might or might not be included as part of a grand cru. The second, and quite possibly the single greatest Burgundian winemaker of the 20th century, was Henri Jayer. Specifically invited by the owners of Domaine Méo-Camuzet to tend to their vines since the 1940s due to his already formidable reputation, the masterful vigneron remained a sharecropper of the Domaine’s holdings until 1988 when it moved to vinify its plots itself. Jayer remained a consultant and was utterly instrumental in its ascension to the very pinnacle of Burgundian fine wine. Meo-Camuzet Corton Clos Rognet: Corton represents silkiness, smoothness and authority. Its vines produce a robust wine with astonishing ageing capacity. It is always very mature and therefore offers us sweet aromas and a well-rounded texture; its structure is sometimes pronounced in the finish.
