Robert Parker introduced the cents wine classification system. Its scale has always been called "parkerization", and is based on various parameters that judge the appearance, aromas, flavor and aging potential of a wine, with a score from 0 to 100.

A wine that has passed through the taste buds of Parker or his co-workers is a wine that has been classified and validated.

Robert Parker rating scale in score bands:

Between 96 and 100 points - “extraordinary wine”, with a deep and complex character, which satisfies all the requirements that a classic wine of its kind should have. The wines that fall into this range of points are, as it is easy to guess, among the rarest and most expensive.

Between 90 and 95 points - “excellent wine”, complex and full of character. A wine that is well above the norm.

Between 80 and 89 points - “good wine”, endowed with refinement and good taste, with more than acceptable classic characteristics.

Between 70 and 79 points - “average wine”, a simple wine that enters the rank of “acceptable”.

Between 60 and 69 points - "below average wine", a wine with many deficiencies, such as excessive acidity or presence of tannins, lack of taste or aromas, lack of flavor personality.

Between 50 and 59 points - “unacceptable”, a really poor wine.
